I was initially happy with my first appointment with Dr. Beret. He seemed genuinely caring and eager to help. However, I did get passed on to another provider right away. After only a month or so, that provider left, and again I was passed on. This happened a total of 3 times (not counting Dr. Beret). Each has only seen me 1 or 2 times before leaving the practice. It was disappointing to say the least to have been passed around carelessly when I’m dealing with a severe mental illness. I need consistency and stability which did not happen here. I have no idea why these providers left, but that was a red flag to me. I will be seeking care elsewhere.

Over the past several years, Dr. Halley Brown has guided me through the most difficult period of my life with extraordinary compassion, wisdom, and unwavering dedication. From the very beginning, she has made every effort to truly understand me—not just the circumstances I was facing, but the patterns, fears, and experiences that shaped them. In doing so, she has helped me understand myself in ways I never thought possible.

Rather than simply offering advice, she has empowered me to discover solutions, heal old wounds, and develop healthier ways of relating to both myself and others. The work we've done together has profoundly changed how I navigate other relationships.

She has an exceptional ability to provide clarity when life feels confusing and confidence when I doubt myself. Her consistency, generosity and compassion has benefited me more deeply than I can adequately express.

Because of her guidance, I walk into the world with a bit more confidence and a stronger sense of who I am. My hope is to pay forward the generosity, empathy, and healthy curiosity she has consistently shown me. Those qualities have left a lasting impression on how I want to treat others.

When our work together eventually comes to an end, I know I will carry a part of her with me. Her voice—the thoughtful questions,  and compassionate perspective—has become intertwined with my own inner voice. I expect that, for years to come, I'll occasionally hear myself asking the kinds of insightful questions she taught me to ask.

She also has a wonderful wit that brings warmth and lightness to even the hardest conversations, and a depth of wisdom that far exceeds what I would have expected from someone so early in her career. She possesses a rare combination of intelligence, empathy, curiosity, and unrelenting, genuine care.

Horrid. Only have to be smarter than a cucumber to recognize the sheer amount of red tape and corruption. I’d say it’s a joke but it’s not funny. Emily is a fantastic receptionist. If I call and don’t leave a message, she often follows up with a text to check what I need, which I really appreciate. She is consistently friendly, accommodating, and truly sets the tone for Smile Psychiatry.

I’ve referred a number of friends to this office, and I’m always impressed by her welcoming demeanor. Even when discussing finances, she makes the conversation easy by being transparent and avoiding any hidden costs.

I feel confident recommending Smile Psychiatry to my friends and loved ones because I know they’ll receive the same thoughtful and attentive “Emily” treatment.

Dr. Berrett is the best psychiatrist I’ve ever seen. After decades of being misdiagnosed and prescribed countless medications, I had never truly experienced life outside of deep despair and depression.

Dr. Berrett took the time to understand my history and correctly diagnose me, then thoughtfully simplified my medications. The difference has been life-changing. For the first time in years, I feel clear, stable, and able to truly live my life. I have been stable for several years thanks to Dr. Berrett.

I no longer feel like I’m living under a constant cloud of darkness or struggling with suicidal thoughts. I’m genuinely living my best life now, and I can’t overstate how much that means to me.

Smile Psychiatry has been an excellent resource for me in receiving help for my ptsd.  Love all the staff there and Jennifer Mathis in their billing department brings so much compassion in her assistance!
